MediaExplorer & MediaExplorer Statistics

Book and analyse any medium

With MediaExplorer, planners, buyers, buying assistants, media managers and media accounting users can book and analyse any medium.

MediaExplorer is smart, flexible and open. Smart because it tells you when there’s work to be done, flexible because it meets your needs and your clients’ as they evolve, and open because you can import and export schedules, and link dynamically to third-party adservers and vouching services.

Cut administration time

MediaExplorer cuts administration time to a minimum, by:

  • taking data from external sources such as TV saleshouses, J-ET, Telmar, IMS, Atlas and Excel, so that you can create a media schedule with minimum data entry and potential for error
  • providing reports and fast, flexible export to Microsoft Excel
  • consolidating planned alongside actual activity
  • providing schedules suitable for your clients and production houses
  • providing quick and easy data interrogation.

Streamline your buying process

Working with bookings for any medium, MediaExplorer will streamline your buying process.

You can monitor your schedules of bookings, and get alerts when there’s work to be done. You can make and manage bookings, using MediaExplorer's flexible grids to add as many bookings as you want at the same time, and include as much information on them as you want. After print publication you can voucher using scanned images of advertisements and spreads, and after television broadcast you can analyse performance and use this to estimate future ratings.

Swift and easy payments

With MediaExplorer, finance users can quickly and easily clear bookings for payment, part-pay, unclear and query bookings. You can also select which bookings to include in or withhold from cheque and BACS runs, change the folio you want to pay, write off to unclaimed balances and view the history of changes made to bookings.

MediaExplorer Statistics

With MediaExplorer Statistics you can pinpoint and analyse the exact information you want, using powerful, flexible enquiries.
The flexible design of MediaExplorer Statistics means you can customise it to reflect your requirements. You can:

  • build a single or multimedia enquiry
  • Choose the media buying, media accounting or media management data you want to analyse, e.g. clients, products, campaigns, suppliers, stations and billing groups
  • Select data from a broad range, e.g. multiple costs, television ratings, press volume rates, internet contacts and CPTs
  • Create a range of enquiries in one go
  • Use templates for your frequently-used enquiries to save time, change them on the fly and view the data immediately
  • Create Favourites lists of dimensions (columns and rows) and data types (facts)
  • Group your data (e.g. by month, year, daypart, audience, space, supplier invoice number and more), and filter it to view subsets
  • Pivot and analyse your data on the fly, by dragging and dropping rows and columns
  • Create interactive charts you can drill into
  • Show percentages and perform period-on-period analyses
  • Apply rules to highlight business trends
  • Rank data and show a rank position
  • Use Aud 1 / Aud 2 and Aud 2 / Aud 1 conversions when analysing TV bookings
  • Analyse position in break (PIB), centre versus end break (CVE) and film information from MediaExplorer bookings
  • Save, copy, print and export enquiries (e.g. to MS Excel, HTML) and archive them for historical analysis.
