Sponsored by DDS for the fourth year in a row, the IPA finance conference at the British Library on 10 June was attended by finance directors and managers from the UK's leading agencies. How agency business models have adapted in the light of increasingly digitally-minded consumers and clients, as well as changes in the landscape of media ownership and innovative production technology, was addressed under the conference title 'Talent vs. Technology'.
The event opened with a welcome from Graham Golding, head of the IPA finance committee and finance director of Fallon. Dominic Mills, editorial director, Haymarket Business Media, chaired the event and introduced two keynote speakers: Philip Miles, agency leader at Google, and Steve Parish CEO, Tag. Both were joined in an afternoon session by Guy Parsons, CEO of Travelodge, Laurence Green, chairman of Fallon, and Andrew Walmsley, founder of i-level, for a panel discussion.
